Tastings, teaching and events

Consumer and trade tastings

I can organise and host tastings tailored to your specific requirements.

I’ve worked in the wine trade for over 15 years, and have conducted seminars and tastings for all kinds of clients, from wine trade bodies such as Wine Australia and Wines of Chile, to unpretentious consumer events.

I can provide you with insight into some of the world’s greatest wine regions or take you on a voyage of discovery along the wine world’s less-trodden paths, or simply teach you the fundamentals of tasting.

Alternatively, thanks to my wealth of contacts with the London restaurant trade and years of experience matching wine to food, I can help you stage events where food and wine share centre stage.

Whatever your requirements, my aim is to create an atmosphere of relaxed informality and to make learning about wine fun as well as informative.

What they said about my tastings and seminars:

‘It was a pleasure working with Natasha on our recent One Day Wine School events. She is a natural presenter with a fantastic depth of knowledge on Australia and has the ability to engage even while discussing technical information. Her engaging, informal style was well received by the attendees who all appreciated the many personal stories and extra nuggets of information that helped lift her presentations to another level. Thank you Natasha! Emma Symington, UK Events and Education Manager, Wine Australia

‘We had a wonderful wine tasting hosted by Natasha. It was delivered in a nice, light-hearted style that made it easy for an enthusiastic novice like myself to gain some understanding. Natasha was very entertaining and knowledgeable.’ Ann Viney, Publisher, Art Press

Theory and practical courses for MW students

I run three-day tasting courses for MW students based on the three-paper practical exams, with tastings in the morning and feedback sessions in the afternoon. Dates for these courses in 2016 will be announced shortly.

I also offer theory and practical sessions for students on a one-on-one or small-group basis on demand.

What they said about my courses:

‘I thought you did an excellent job of selecting wines that were true to type and gave really insightful feedback. I would highly recommend the weekend to anyone wanting to hone their tasting skills.’ Francesca Martin, MW student and founder, Bee Drinks Global

‘You enabled us to hone our skills and arguments through your questions and clear explanations. What is more, not one of us was made to feel inadequate or awkward – an admirable skill. The wines were super, too – I drank my glass of Château d’Angludet!’ Kate Dowdeswell, MW student and Senior National Account Manager, ABS Wine Agencies

‘Many thanks, again, for the weekend’s tasting! Extremely well-selected wines and excellent insights – much appreciated.’ Mick O’Connell, MW student and manager, Handford Wines South Kensington
